Wallenius Wilhelmsen announced on 28 October four firm car-carrier orders at Jinling Shipyard in Jiangsu, alongside options for eight additional vessels. Each ship will provide 9,900 car-equivalent units of capacity and LNG dual-fuel engines.
Initial deliveries are scheduled from mid-2030. Potential capital expenditure reaches approximately $1.5 billion only if every option is exercised. The agreement therefore represents four confirmed vessels, rather than twelve firm orders, with the remaining capacity dependent on subsequent option decisions.
