Boluda Shipping has agreed to acquire Samskip, the companies announced on 28 October. Completion is expected on 1 January 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and agreed conditions.
Connecting sea and land
The planned combination would link Northern Europe, Iberia, the Canary Islands and West Africa through a wider short-sea and multimodal network.
This is an agreement rather than a completed acquisition. The companies say they will continue to operate independently until closing. The distinction matters when assessing announced changes to shipping services and ownership.
