SFL announced agreements for two 8,800 TEU containerships and a 93,000 cbm very large ammonia carrier on 28 October. The total investment is approximately $365 million.
Deliveries in two stages
The containerships are scheduled for 2027, followed by the ammonia carrier in 2028. Long-term charters add at least $333 million to contracted revenue backlog.
Investment cost and charter backlog are different measures. Contracted future revenue offers employment visibility; it is not equivalent to cash already received or net profit.
