European Shipowners | ECSA restated its priorities for the EU emissions-trading revision on 27 October. The association wants more revenues reinvested in shipping’s energy transition and broader support for technologies delivering carbon savings.
It calls for the relevant funding allocation to rise from 110 million to 330 million emission allowances. These are industry proposals in Council and European Parliament negotiations, rather than an adopted legal change or confirmation of a subsidy already available to individual shipowners.
