Natalia Margioli was elected President of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers at its Controlling Council meeting in Cape Town on 29 October. She succeeds Punit Oza and becomes the first woman and first Greek to hold the post.

A focus on professional education

The Hellenic Management Centre founder has identified education, membership value and stronger links between international branches and the industry as priorities.

For students and early-career professionals, the appointment also highlights the place of international professional networks in commercial shipping. It is a leadership change within a professional institution, rather than a government appointment.
